Nafisa fights for the rights of children with disabilities to inclusive, child-centered education. She is driven by a deep sense of solidarity and justice, having decades of experience in disability-inclusive education, assistive technology, and advocacy for change. She understands that power is something to be shared and expanded, and she is a leader who empowers others, especially youth with disabilities

Nafisa established the Inclusive Education & Early Childhood Development Community of Practice with GCE-US, an advocacy & learning platform.  She steered game-changing campaigns which include:

  • Inclusive early childhood development financing in low-income countries, recognizing that interventions in the earliest years build the foundation for a good life for children with disabilities.

  • Investing in the workforce for inclusive education.

  • Global Education Monitoring Report on Inclusion.
